Frequently
Asked Questions
|
How
much does it cost?
|
The
cost of travel differs depending on the type of aircraft chartered.
The hourly rate ranges from $250/hr for the Piper
Aztec to over 5,000/hr for the mightly Gulfstream
V. |
|
When
can I fly?
|
At
the time you choose. Pilots will be scrambled, aircraft fueled,
and on the way to pick you up and take you to your destination. |
|
Can
I get a seat on a plane?
|
No,
private charter is based on chartering the entire aircraft.
No matter how many passengers, the rate is the same. Thus, flying
with 5 or more passengers will rate out to that of flying the
airlines. |
|
What's
an empty leg?
|
This
is when the aircraft is already scheduled to fly a passenger
(or pick up a passenger) on a one-way trip. The other "leg",
where the aircraft flys empty, is considered the empty leg or
backhaul. Since the aircraft has been paid by the first passenger,
the empty leg rate is substantially reduced. |
